Many psychological disorders result from difficulties in emotion regulations and people are different in how they regulate their emotions. The aim of this study is to investigate the relations between difficulties in emotion regulations and five factor of personality including neuroticism, extraversion, openness to experience, agreeableness and conscientiousness. Participants of the study, 272 students (138 male and 134 female) from Azarbaijan Shahid Madani University, completed self-report measures of emotion regulation difficulties (DERS) and NEO-FFI. The results of pearson's correlation coefficient indicated that there is a significant positive relation between difficulties in emotion regulations and neuroticism and negative significant relationships between difficulties in emotion regulations and extraversion, agreeableness and conscientiousness. Step by step regression analysis revealed that neuroticism significantly predicts 31.4 of difficulties in emotion regulation variance.
