Background & Aims: Youth’s Inventory of Callous-Unemotional Traits (ICU-Y version) was developed to assess callous and unemotional features in youth, These questionnaire is designed based on Childhood Psychopathy Scale (CPS) and assesse traits of callousness, lack of sympathy, and emotionality. The present study aims to assess thepsychometric properties of youth’s callous and unemotional traits in a non-clinical sample. Materials& Methods: The sample consists of 300 male high-school students in Dezfoul with the average age of 16.38. They were selected via a multi-stage random sampling. All participants were asked to fill out the ICU questionnaire along with checking the Vandalism Quetionnair (VQ). The reliability of ICU-YV was measured through three methods of confirmatory factor analysis, covergent validity, and criterion validity, and its overall reliability was determined by correlation coefficients, Kronbach’s alpha, and split half method. Result: Cronbach’s alpha level for the whole scale was 0/65, and for the subscales including callousness, uncaring, and unemotional factors were, 0/56, 0/61, and 0/55. The reliability of the inventory estimated by the split-half method, for the whole inventory was 0/56, and for the subscales including callousness, uncaring and unemotional factors were 0/51, 0/63 and 0/49. The correlation between ICU-YV andthe factors in AISS was significant: P<0.01 (r=0/32). Furthermore, the results obtained from confirmatory factor analysis (RMSEA=0/05) illustrate a fair fitness of the three factors forming ICU-YV. Conclusion: The findings of the present study show that ICU-YV is reliable and valid in Iranian adolescents.
