This paper presents the results of a preliminary study of the validity and reliability of the State and Trait Anger Expression Inventory (STAXI-2) amongst a sample of university students. Including 57 items, STAXI-2 measures 6 scales and 5 subscales related to Anger. Furthermore, the STAXI-2 was re-administered to a sub sample of 50 males and females of the original respondents three weeks after the first assessment. Significant correlations were found between AAI subscales and the scales and subscales of STAXI-2 in the proposed directions. The results revealed that the scales and subscales of STAXI-2 are reliable, in terms of internal consistency and intraclass correlations. These results provide preliminary confirmation of validity and reliability of to examine STAXI-2 amongst university students. Further studies are highly recommended the sensitivity of STAXI-2 to anger changes as a result of treatment.
