Abstract

Introduction: "Sexual health" is one of the main aspects of family, individual and social health, for this purpose, the purpose of the present study is to create and standardize the sexual health questionnaire of spouses based on the Islamic sexual health model.

Method: The method of the current research is descriptive, and the statistical population is all Iranian married people, through virtual networks, 581 people answered the sexual health questionnaire of the researcher's spouses and the sexual satisfaction questionnaire of Larson (1998) using the available method. . In order to construct the questionnaire, first its items were designed based on the components of sexual health of spouses compiled by Baniyani (2018), and then its content validity was evaluated and confirmed by 15 expert experts. Finally, in order to validate the questionnaire, confirmatory factor analysis and concurrent validity were used. And also for reliability, Cronbach's alpha coefficient was used.

Results: The confirmatory factor analysis of the research was conducted in two stages, the result of which, after removing inappropriate questions, indicated the optimal fit of the questionnaire. Then, the correlation of the sexual health components of the spouses was done with each other and with the whole structure; The total correlation score of sexual health with the components was as follows: physical health 0.31, vision health 0.68, emotional health 0.86, behavioral health 0.92, which is a positive and significant correlation result. Then, for the simultaneous validity of the questionnaire, its relationship with Larson's sexual satisfaction questionnaire was praised as 0.85, which is also a positive and significant result. The reliability of the questionnaire using Cronbach's alpha coefficient for the whole questionnaire was 0.88. And the validity level was 0.57, 0.64, 0.77 emotional health, and 0.80 for the physical health component, which generally indicates that the validity of the scale based on internal consistency is favorable.

Discussion and conclusion: The findings show the construct validity and acceptable validity of the spouses' sexual health questionnaire, which with its prescriptive content and criteria-based approach, can be useful for researchers and couple therapists to understand better.
