Authors

Abstract

Introduction: The Dark Triad Scale is a new tool for quick and easy recognition in the field of personality. This study examined the Construct Validity of Dark Triad Questionnaire.
Methods: The population included all active users who have an email. 272 people were selected as the sample by using the snowball sampling method. Data were analyzed by confirmatory factor analysis and AMCS-22 software.
Results: The finding showed that Cronbach's alpha was 0.74, 0.63, 0.83 for personality factors of Machiavellianism, antisocial and narcissism, respectively. The correlation of total score-item ranged from 0.42 to 0.90. Studying the internal consistency by Cronbach's alpha, test- retest, the interscorer agreement and correlation of question with total score of the test showed that the scale has a good reliability. Investigations related to content validity and construct validity of the scale indicate the desirable validity of the aforementioned questionnaire. Findings obtained from confirmatory factor analysis reveal three distinct but correlated factors as follows: Machiavellianism, antisocial, and narcissistic.
Discussion and Conclusion: According to these results we can say that the Dark Triad Scale is a valid and reliable tool for measuring these three personality characteristics in Iran.
