Validity and Reliability Cues for Sexual Desire Scale (CSDS)

Abstract

Introduction: The main purpose of this study was validate Cues for Sexual Desire Scale (CSDS) on a sample of married women aged 18-75 in the city of Qom.
Method: 160 women were selected among the women who referred to Qom Gynecology Clinics in the summer of 2015. The subjects were selected by convenience sampling. They completed the Cues for Sexual Desire Scale (CSDS), Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI), Depression Anxiety Scale (Dass21) AND neo.
Results: The results obtained from internal consistency reliability coefficients were satisfactory especially those for Cronbach's alpha (for 40 items) which was 0.86.convergent validity coefficients showed that Cues for Sexual Desire Scale (CSDS) has a significant negative relationship with anxiety, a significant positive relationship with FSFI and a positive and significant correlation with extraversion dimensions and openness to experience of NEO questionnaire (p<0.05).
Discussion and Conclusion: Psychometric indices obtained from this study show that the results are in accordance with the previous researches. CSDS can be used in clinical and research situation, and also in measuring the cues for sexual desire because of its convergent validity and reliability.
