Method: In a semi experimental study, 30 addict women with diagnosis of drug dependency who successfully detoxified in Tehran therapeutic community of women center were selected by convenience sampling, then divided into two experimental group (15 subjects) and control group (15 subjects). The experimental group received 12 sessions of training (every week a group session), While, the control group did not receive any training during the same period. The subjects were assessed by Gorsciss (1989) relapse prevention scale and Franken et.al, (2002) craving reduction scale and urine test before the treatment, random during the treatment, after the treatment and after 3-month follow up. Data were analyzed by repeated measure ANOVA and chi square test.
Results: The results of repeated measure ANOVA showed that there's a significant relationship between experimental and control group in craving and relapse prevention in the period of post test and follow up, the results of chi square test also showed that there's a significant relationship between relapse frequencies.
Discussion and Conclusion: The results showed that Marlate cognitive-behavioral model is effective in reducing craving and relapse prevention of addict women.
