Study the Investigation of Diagnosis of M.R on the Basis of M.R Criteria of âAmerican Association on M.Râ among the Retarded Students of Isfahan Institutes
This study is designed to investigate the application of Wechsler scale and adaptation scale for diagnosis of M.R on the basis of M.R criteria (according to Americans Association on M.R).
The major aim of this research is to see whether there was a relation between Wechsler test and adaptation scale.
Subjects were 121 students from grade one through five with an average age of 11 years and 8 months that randomly selected from different regions of Isfahan schools. The basic hypothesis was a negative and statistically significant correlation between Wechsler scale and adaptation scale for diagnosis of M.R. The instruments which have been used in this research are: WISC-R. which is adapted and standardized to Iranian population by Shahim (1994), and adaptation scale, which adapted and standardized by Shehni Yaiagh (1996).
Collected data have been analyzed by means of statistical methods of Pearson, correlation coefficient.
The major result of this research is a negative and statistically significant relationship between adaptation scale and WISC-R.
