Introduction: Stress is one of the inevitable facts in today's life and the source of many physical and mental diseases. One of the types of stress is stress among students, which can reduce the efficiency of people. It seems necessary to have a reliable tool that can measure the stress level of students and be used in student counseling centers. Due to the lack of tools in this field, the purpose of this research is to investigate the psychometric characteristics of the Student Stress Questionnaire (SSI) in Iran.
Method: This research is a descriptive correlation study. The sample consists of 441 Iranian students who were selected by available sampling method and completed the Student Stress Questionnaire (SSI) and the Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale (DASS-21). The validity of this questionnaire has been measured by convergent validity with the DASS-21 scale and confirmatory factor analysis, also internal consistency method (Cronbach's alpha) and binomialization have been used to evaluate its reliability.
Result: The research findings showed that the internal consistency coefficient for the whole scale is 0/91 and the correlation between the two halves is 0/64 Convergent validity between SSI and DASS-21 questionnaires shows a correlation of 0/80, which is a strong and significant positive relationship; Also, the confirmatory factor analysis shows the good fit of the factor structure of this questionnaire.
Discussion and conclusion: Based on the results of the research, the Persian version of the Student Stress Questionnaire (SSI) can be used as a valid and reliable tool to measure the stress level of students.
